One thing I want to state if you have a chance to get into IBM as a fresher, please give it a second thought. Year 2008 when the world was shouting "RECESSION" this company IBM establish a record by laying off 10000+ professionals(http://www.businessinsider.com/2009/1/look-its-jerry-yang-at-the-inauguration). The firing was done to such an extent that they found manpower short in 2009. The begin their hiring but remind you the company's name is IBM, like a dog's tail can never be straight, IBM can never be transperant. They hired some 400+ professional both freshers and experienced but delayed their joining. Some guys received phone calls afer 8PM also asking then to relocate to Bangalore in 2 days with a message to wait for the mail which didn't turn up. Still 80% is not placed but IBM is recruting. If you don't have any project why is this drama? Forbes market analysis states the IBM (software Industry) is not ranked in top 100 industries.
Finaly let me state the words I've written has nothing to do personally as neither I'm waiting for IBM offer nor I've worked with but I've met some guys who impelled me to put this article.
